While each table had the same grumpy cat face, they all selected different school expectations to reinforce for their classmates in this super fun, silly, and engaging assignment.
Instead of standing in the front of the room and going over school rules again, she gave students the assignment to create a meme (you know, those hilarious pictures you see on the internet with white text at the top and bottom) which exemplifies or explains a school rule in table groups using one safe-for-school (but still fun) image she selected. before 8:25am class, Robo-voice/stuttering from poor connection, A student breathes loudly into their unmuted mic, A student can't get screenshare working, The teacher gets confused by the students' memes, Students can't hear the teacher's voice, The teacher forgets to share his/ her screen, students showing half of their faces, A student says something mundane without knowing they're unmuted, Students using zoom private chat to message other students, Students' unmuted mics are disrupting the class, but the teacher doesn't mute them, All closed their cameras, Students try to tell the teacher about a technical problem but the teacher can't hear, All muted, Someone's pet shows up on camera, someone popped out on the camera aside the student himself, dismiss classes early, Someone types a message in the chat but the teacher doesn't notice for several minutes, The teacher gets confused because of something a student said without knowing they were unmuted, You disconnect, camerasįace ceilings and The teacher asks something, gets no response, and wonders if the call broke.One of the awesome teachers I have the privilege of working with at Ault, Nicole Donaldson teaches 5th grade Language Arts, told me about a class meeting activity she recently had her students complete.
